3M Scrub Sampler – Airtight bag with stick-pad for sampling from surfaces moistened with 10 ml of neutralizing swab

The 3M Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick is a pre-hydrated environmental microbial sample collection device with a ready-to-use broad-spectrum neutralizing buffer. It combines an innovative design that facilitates picking, with a high-tech multilayer fabric sponge designed to maximize the adsorption and release of microbes, maintain integrity during sampling of rough areas and crumble the biofilm thanks to scrub-dots. The neutralizing buffer is effective on multiple disinfectants used in the food and beverage industry, including quaternary ammonium salts, high-acid detergents, chlorine-based disinfectants, hydrogen peroxide and peroxyacetic acid. The neutralizing buffer has been formulated using components accepted for use in the food industry and is therefore free of known allergenic components, animal-derived materials, PCR inhibitors and components derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The buffer is compatible with Petrifilm 3M plates and allows a sample storage time of up to 96 hours at refrigerated temperatures. The ergonomic stick facilitates the aseptic sampling technique, has an easy sponge detachment mechanism, and contains a metal additive for X-ray detectability. This is the first and so far, sole sample collection device and neutralizing solution to obtain the AOAC-PTM certificate (#022104). The product is supplied in a double-layer laminated sample bag resistant to punctures and mechanical stress. The clamps maintain a secure closure and a large white writing area helps identify the sample. The bag and sampling device are gamma-ray sterilized and are also available in kits with nitrile gloves.
