In this industry segment we include the production of drugs, nutritional adjuvants (vitamins, aminoacids and mineral salts), cosmetics, cosmaceuticals and food products for special purposes (e.g parenteral nutrition). The quality of these products, in the same way as to other kind of products, is initially defined by the manufacturer that chooses the features that a product should present. On the other hand, the quality control of a product aims to verify if all of these defined features are in accordance with the standard definitions and if it will be maintained during the shelf life of the product. The quality control in this industry is strictly regulated given the importancy to ensure the efficacy and safety of products and its raw-materials.
