Anti-Salmonella A-67 + Vi omnivalent: agglutination test for the confirmation of suspect Salmonella isolated colonies
- Format: 1 ml Vial
- Code: TR1101
- Technology: Serotyping
- Application: Food/Water microbiology
- Tag/Filter: Salmonella
The test reagent is intended for use in the serological identification of Salmonella strains isolated from test material of varied origin using slide agglutination. Additional serological differentiation must be performed using the group-specific test reagents in accordance with the White-Kauffmann-Le-Minor scheme. If the tested isolated strain possesses a Salmonella antigen that is covered by the test reagent, this antigen becomes bound when mixed with the specific antibody. The antigen-antibody reaction results in clearly visible agglutination of the strain. The Anti-Salmonella A-67+ Vi is a mixture of monoclonal antibodies. They are produced from cell culture supernatants of hybridoma cell lines which secrete antibodies against the respective group specific Salmonella O-antigens or the Vi-antigen. In exceptional cases, when the growth medium is not enough selective, there is the possibility of cross-reactions with other genera of the Enterobacteriaceae family (e. g. with strains of Citrobacter spp., Hafnia alvei, Proteus spp. or E. coli) due to antigen identities or related antigens. In such cases, biochemical examination is required to establish membership of the genus Salmonella. Available also in the 5 ml format.
