This Real-Time PCR kit detects the DNA of wheat (taxon reference gene) thus it allows to check if the extraction process yielded any wheat detectable DNA. In summary it is a paramount process control to give a correct interpretation to negative results when testing for wheat OGM. The kit can also be used to monitor the presence of wheat in other ingredients and to quantify its contribution in a complex DNA mix.
